Happy Birthday -Three!

Today is a big day. The girls turn "THREE"-years-big! We did a celebration with families, with balloons and toy from Uncle and Auntie, Hello-kitty bags from Gu-Gu and Gu-zan, red envelopes from Grandpas and Grandmas, and a beautiful yummy cake!! Thanks to everyone, the girls had so much fun! Kari was pretty shy while everyone sang the "Happy birthday" song to her, just like last year! Kayla graciously said, "thank you everybody..." The most awesome Daddy in the world brought a cake to school as well to celebrate their birthday with Kayla and Kari's little friends. I hope they remember this one. Thank you Daddy!!!

Pumpkin Patch

The girls had so much fun this year at the Pumpkin Patch! Kari was brave enough to pat the little pig. Kayla watched but was too scared to get close. They asked to get on the rides and for the balloons. Out of the kindness of Dad's heart their wishes were granted this year. I love the pumpkin patch.

Mommy and Two Little Angels

Kari looks like she's having tons of fun, and Kayla looks she's had enough of pictures!  This is a fun one that says tons about each of our personalities, at the present state.

It is hard for me to get a smile out of kayla in pictures now.  If I do get one, it usually is adorably fake.  Kari usually smiles so over zealously that her face wrinkles up like a small clown.  This is just as good as it gets.

A Sweetheart and A Charming Diva

Lately Sweet Princess Kayla had turned into a diva with an attitude.  The used-to-be high maintenance baby Kari is sweet as can be!  They grow and change right in front of us, only wish time would slow down...  Daddy and Mommy are already missing every minute of it.

Halloween Trick or TREAT!

Little poodles...Baa baa pink sheeps... They had so much fun this Halloween!  This is Kari's first time Trick-O-Treating since she slept through it last year.   They made noises of the sheeps, "mei...mei....", as they walked the streets of Victoria Garden.  Kari would even shriek playfully if you tug on her tail!  I love my pink sheeps!

That's Ridiculous

Kari said today, "ridiculous Mommy..."

Kayla replied to Kari, "you are ridiculous!"

Mommy's jaw just dropped...

A while ago, it was... "HOW SAD....Kayla" whenever things got broken.

Other big words they use: Pedestrian, bicyclist, motorcyclist.

New dresses Play cute

They love their new dresses! They twirl around and dance in them happily. They are even willing to pose for a play-cute photo for their paparazzi, before shoving each other off the chair that is...

Victoria Train Ride

So happy to get on the first Victoria Train Ride. Had to yank Kari off forcefully, since her butts were stuck to the the seat stubbornly and her eyes were filled with teary pleas to stay...

"Until next time, sweetie..." Mommy soothed the cry baby.

Three bucks to ride!?  there is no next time...

In my little bag

Each time we go to grandma's house, K& K love to pack their favorite things to bring with them.

Kayla's bag today: a Dora watch.
Kari's bag today: a verizon cell phone (used passed down from Daddy), and a baby baseball key ring.

When we came home, we took a stroll around the block. We arrived at the mailboxes. The girls have always been intrigued by the mystery behind each of these tiny squares. Kari took out her baseball key ring and tried to open the mailboxes. Not sure which one it would open, she stood there for a quite a while trying to open different ones until Mommy yelled "POLICE"!

Now I said to "smile"...

Disneyland

 Disney - It's a Small World .mp3
Found at bee mp3 search engine

Kari just stared happily... for about 5 full minutes. She thought it was funny looking. She would've stared longer if she was allowed to...

Getting off the wrong hotel to start, later followed by a broken stroller wheel with the girls refusing to get off, a pair of lost prescription glasses, forgotten medication, unresponsive car remote control... Felt like Friday the thirteenth, only worse. That-- was pretty much our first day at Disney. Poor Daddy pushing the girls, holding the bags, while kicking in the wheel from the side every 30 seconds to stop it from flying away... What a trooper!

The girls helped Daddy push the broken stroller back to the entrance...

Although it was a completely jinxed day, we and the girls had a memorable trip! We had a good second day at the park. The girls visited small world, submarine, merry-go-around, and drove disney cars. They ended the day with spectacular firework display!

I asked hubby to take a photo of me in front of this cutest little cartoon house I loved, and he obliged. Then he handed the camera back to me and walked straight in. Confused, disoriented... Where is he going?!

Ah... I posed in front of the public lavatory, proudly.

AT THE END OF THE DAY...

Nothing tasted better, under the scorching sun, after a long day of standing in line, than the Mickey cookie Disney ice cream... that cost us an arm and a leg!!!

Thank you, Daddy, for a memorable trip!

Favorite Buffet lunch

With the bunch.

Grandpa and grandma never get sick of this place, neither do the girls. They get to watch the fish swim and enjoy lots of different food here. And of course, their favorite ice cream cones...

Best Friends Forever

Hugs- From Uncle Anthony

Back from work Uncle Anthony found two little surprises sitting in the backyard. Sitting there watching grandpa water the plants, they were so excited to see their uncle they jumped out of their chairs to give him huge hugs and kisses...

Potty Training Mommy

Kayla and Kari started, although not seriously, potty training.

More accurately, the sentence should read: Kayla and Kari started potty training Mommy.

Two little cheerleaders would rush to the door as I sit.
"GO GO Mommy! 加油! 用力!" They close their fist tight, stick out the buttocks, and squeeze their face together with an agonizing expression.

Today while Kayla cheered, Kari disappeared, "Mei Mei get the ipad for you okay Mommy?!"

She couldn't find it. Afraid she'd find it, I rushed, "Mei mei come back!!! HURRY!"

"OKAY Mommy. Be right back" Then she suddenly appeared with a little book in her hand. She set it on the floor the way her Daddy always set the ipad for her, opened it, and said, "There you go, Mommy. Now you can read."

That is probably the only time she'll get me to read.

Gate to Paradise

Today was a good day. Sunny and hot, and the girls had a great time playing outside on their tricycles. I opened the back gate to the paradise outside of the house while doing chores. As soon as I turned around, the two had raced forward and came to a sudden halt in front of the open gate. Kayla paused looking curiously outside. She had no plans of proceeding forward. Kari looked out, and looked at Kayla.

"GO ON!" she said, "go right out, Kayla"
"NO no no no.... Don't," said Mommy, blocking the exit to Paradise, "媽米說不可以!(MOMMY SAID NO)"

Pause.

Insisted Kari, "但是妹妹說可以呀!(But KARI SAID YES)"
Go on Kayla...

Kayla remained frozen in space. To go ...or not to go....
Wow, there seem to be two commanders of the house as of now.

Waiting

Patiently waiting outside of Sumi grandma's house. They each packed their favorite toys in the suitcase this morning themselves.

Inside Kayla's little suitcase: 超虎
Inside Kari's suitcase: a baby mini baseball book and a tiny little baby doll. They were so excited to take them on a trip!

Playing at grandma's house-- One minute they're beating up each other, and the next you see them holding hands laughing and running across the whole house. It makes Akio grandpa laugh so hard!

Kayla is talking up a storm. She can say everyone's name now! Agon fu bing long, Ama kimberly, Mommy Jasmine, Daddy Justin!
She's quite the mischievous one now. We caught her sneaking up to little Kari one day while Kari's putting on her pants. She quickly stomped her feet on Kari's and ran away... Luckily she's so full of smiles she'd get away from serious time-out.

Sun bathing

Our once a year swim activity by our beautiful pool. They are still just as scared of the water. They loved sitting along the pool and dipping those little feet in at least... Their favorite thing to do in the pool is to dump the pool water onto the pavement, or at mommy who's trying to snap a pic! What a fun time we had... Thank you Daddy for taking us swimming!
